| A franchise is an entitlement granted by either the government, or a business to provide/sell goods and or services under a brand name. The government grants franchises to services such as airline use of airports, bus routes, business licenses and taxi permits. In regards to consumer goods, corporations allow the use of their brand name to be licensed. |
