| Securities: A security is a type of document, which represents the financial value of said document. Securities exist in many different forms of notes, stocks, treasury stocks, bonds, certificates of interest or participation in profit sharing agreements, collateral trust certificates, pre-organization certificates or subscriptions, transferable shares, investment contracts, voting trust certificates, certificates of deposit for a security, and a fractional undivided interest in gas, oil, or other mineral rights. A note such as a home mortgage or notes secured by business assets or accounts receivable are not securities. A security is a type of transferable interest representing financial value. |
