Low Cost Legal Aid
While low-cost legal resources can provide helpful general guidance, they are not a replacement for advice from a licensed California attorney.
These services may answer basic questions or assist with procedures, but their support is limited.
If you’re facing a legal issue that could affect your rights, finances, or future, it’s best to speak with an attorney who can assess your situation and offer advice specific to your needs.
The right legal support can make a real difference in your outcome.

California State Bar–Certified and American Bar Association–Accredited Lawyer Referral and Information Service
1000Attorneys.com is a Lawyer Referral and Information Service certified and approved by the State Bar of California and accredited by the American Bar Association.
The service provides unbiased and impartial referrals to independently licensed attorneys who meet established eligibility and professional standards.
1000Attorneys.com is not owned, operated, or controlled by the attorneys who receive referrals, and no attorney may influence the referral process.
Our purpose is to promote public protection by facilitating access to qualified legal representation while holding participating California attorneys to high standards of professional conduct, ethics, and accountability.
Our History
Since 2005, 1000Attorneys.com has assisted individuals and families throughout California in identifying reputable legal counsel.
Many members of the public encounter difficulty navigating attorney advertising, self-promotional marketing, and unverified claims of expertise.
Our service was established to provide a reliable, neutral alternative that prioritizes transparency, due diligence, and informed decision-making.
How the Lawyer Referral Service Works
Any individual in California seeking legal representation may request a free lawyer referral.
After a request is submitted online, the matter is reviewed by our legal intake department. Most inquiries are evaluated and responded to by email within approximately 15 minutes.
When a referral is made, the client is connected with an attorney for a free 30-minute consultation. Following the referral, a representative may conduct a follow-up to confirm contact was made and to monitor the referral process for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
Attorneys in Our Network
Attorneys participating in our referral network are licensed to practice law in California, insured, and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
Each attorney is evaluated through a vetting process that includes verification of credentials and education, assessment of professional experience in the relevant practice area, review of communication standards and client feedback, and confirmation of compliance with ethical and professional requirements.
Criminal background checks are conducted, and participating attorneys are subject to ongoing monitoring to ensure continued eligibility and adherence to applicable standards.
The network includes attorneys practicing in most major areas of law and serving clients throughout Southern California.
